Fog Alert: Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi Brace for Dense Fog

It’s a common scene in any Indian household – the morning ritual of making ‘parathas’ on the ‘chulha’ is delayed because of the thick fog outside. But today, that scene is more than just a daily routine – it’s a warning sign.

Dense Fog Warning Issued for Four States

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. The warning is valid from 5 am to 8 am today.

According to the IMD, the fog will reduce visibility to less than 200 meters, making it difficult for people to move around. The agency has advised people to stay indoors and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.

The dense fog is expected to affect the daily lives of millions of people living in these four states. The IMD has also warned of potential accidents and disruptions in transportation services.

Experts say that the dense fog is due to the cold wave that has gripped the region. ‘The cold air from the north is colliding with the warm air from the south, creating a perfect storm that leads to the formation of dense fog,’ said Dr. Rajesh, a meteorologist.

While the dense fog may cause inconvenience to people, it also has a positive impact on agriculture. ‘The fog helps to retain moisture in the soil, which is beneficial for crops,’ said Dr. Singh, an agronomist.

As the fog sets in, people are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe. Stay tuned for further updates and follow all instructions from the authorities.
