Telangana Spends Just 9% on Education

Are you wondering how Telangana spends its budget? Let’s get straight to the point – the state spends only 9% of its budget on education. This is a worrying trend that trails behind many other states in the country.

This means that out of every rupee collected as tax, only 9 paise goes towards funding schools, colleges and universities. The remaining 91 paise is spent on other areas like infrastructure, healthcare and administration.

Education Budget: A Comparison with Other States

Telangana is not alone in this. Several other states have similar spending patterns when it comes to education. However, some states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu are way ahead in terms of education spending. They allocate a significant portion of their budget towards education, which is around 15-18%.

The low education budget in Telangana has serious implications for the state’s future. With a growing population and a need for skilled workforce, it’s imperative that the state invests more in education. This will not only improve literacy rates but also create a more employable workforce.

So, what happens next? Will the Telangana government increase its education budget? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain – the state needs to do more to improve its education system and create a brighter future for its citizens.
